There has been several new lines and variations added to the left hand section of Pigeon Rock Mountain this summer and being an easy accessible roadside crag the routes should hopefully stay clean.

On the Summer Solstice and marking the one year anniversary of the 1st ascent of the route 'Summer Solstice', Simon Fell has appropriately added his new route 'Supermoon' HVS 5a between Summer Solstice and Taurus.

Ian Rea has ticked off another excellent line which has been a bit of a long drawn-out project for him. It is a fantastic rightward trending crack situated just right of Simon's new route and left of Taurus (Info coming soon)

12 year old Carson Carnduff may be the youngest first ascensionist in the history of the Mournes by putting up 'The mexican Frog' E1 5b, a new variation starting off Pigeon's Virgo Ledge and climbing out on the exposed overhang in a fine position!

Buzzard's Roost

Jonny Parr and Eamon Quinn got up to the Roost back in May and discovered a line which turned out to be really good and unclimbed. It has since had a few ascents. 'Amateur Hour' HVS 5a, loosely follows the big arete left of the existing route, Hames Corner.
